What is a Sender ID?

Staff

Last Update 2 years ago

A sender ID is a unique alphanumeric or numeric code that identifies the sender of a bulk SMS message. It is also known as the "Sender Name" or "Sender Address".

When sending bulk SMS messages, the Sender ID appears as the "From" address on the recipient's mobile device. It is important to note that Sender IDs have certain restrictions depending on the country or region where the message is being sent.
For example, in some countries, Sender IDs must be registered and approved before they can be used for sending bulk SMS messages.

In general, using a recognizable Sender ID can increase the trust and credibility of the SMS message, as well as help recipients identify the sender and the purpose of the message.

It is important to ensure that the Sender ID used for bulk SMS messages is in compliance with local regulations and best practices to avoid any legal or reputational issues.

PLEASE NOTE:
Alphanumeric Sender IDs can only be a maximum of 11 characters, and Numeric Sender IDs can be up to 12 digits
